One more option for getting foreign currency: AAA
(https://tinyurl.com/AAA-PLN). Order online and the currency comes by
UPS or Fedex, with no charge for delivery (next day or another day of
your choice); someone will have to sign for the package.

AAA's exchange rate -- currently about $.32/Polish Zloty -- isn't
great, but it's better than rates offered by a number of other
companies / banks that sell foreign currency online. I just buy the
minimum ($250) to have some starter cash in my wallet when I get off
the plane. The transaction is processed by Travelex, which charges
more for orders placed on its own website.

The AAA site warns that some credit cards might process this charge as
a cash advance, with a resulting fee. That has not been my experience,
but you might want to check with your credit card company.
Alternatively, pay with a debit card.

As for ATMs... Charles Schwab offers "unlimited ATM fee rebates
worldwide" and it doesn’t charge any ATM fees of its own. Several
years ago I opened a checking account with Schwab to take advantage of
this perk; I keep a small balance there and add some funds when I'm
about to travel. There's no minimum balance, monthly fee, or foreign
debit card fee.
